Health Update

I seriously haven't blogged in 10 days? I apologize! Can't believe it's been that long. I've slipped on the exercise and tracking food thing again. I am still not out of the 220s and it sucks cause I was really close a few weeks ago.

Had my doctor's appointment today. I weighed in at 226 there. Of course I had on heavy pants, but that's still a lot. I am definitely going in the wrong direction. Do NOT like seeing the obesity stuff attached to my stuff there. But I had a physical and talked about my concerns with her and she said everything was normal, so I guess a lot of it is in my head. On another note, I started taking a multivitamin on Friday and two days later I got a cold. Life loves me! Now I'm at that lovely stage where I start coughing stuff up.

She of course wants me to lose weight, but I think I brought that up before she did. She talked about steps that I need to be doing. The problem is I kinda of know everything she mentioned and the real problem I have is motivation and keeping with it. She started talking about her own motivation for exercise issues (btw she's tiny) and it's a little hard to concentrate of what she was says when she was giving me a breast exam at the same time.

Basically, I didn't really get anything out of going in except an overdo physical. How is it I have felt like shit for months, but I'm healthy except for the obese thing? How does that work exactly?

Diagnoses: lose weight. No shit Sherlock.

I actually like the doctor though, not get me wrong. I just get frustrated when even doctors, who are supposed to help, can't.

In the end it really is up to you and you alone. Guess that means I need to get back at it. Might be going to visit my college in a week or so and would like to feel a little better. A 1-2 pound loss before then would really make me feel better!

Hope everyone is doing well!

  1. Glad the doc thought things looked good. You're right - conventional medicine doesn't do a lot of important tests that can make a big difference in the quality of your life. (If you're interested in knowing more let me know.) As far as the exercise goes, if you don't want to do it maybe you should try to find an exercise you like more - something that feels like fun. Maybe a Jazzercise class or rebounding or something? I've been bike riding (as long as the weather is nice) and I look forward to it every day. Just my 2 cents. :) Glad to see ya on the blog!
